Our Story
Humble Roots Home, LLC is a woman-owned business specializing in candles, home scent products, lip balms and other products manufactured from only the highest quality ingredients. Current sales take place in boutiques and small storefronts in Mississippi and Alabama. Aside from physical products, Humble Roots now offers candle making classes available at local “pop-up” shops and private events.
Meet the Founder
Pearson Davis
11-year-old Pearson Davis was eager to go on a church trip, but in order to do so, was tasked with coming up with her own fundraising efforts. Thus, Humble Roots Candle Company was created. Her initial goal was to sell 40 candles to be able to participate, and after countless hours of hard work and determination, she ended up not only surpassing that benchmark but went on to sell a whopping 500 candles. With this outstanding success, Pearson decided to take on the challenge and pursue candle-making with her very own start-up, Humble Roots Candle Co.

Marley Calhoun
For five years, Marley dedicated her life to serving as a special education teacher in Tennessee and Mississippi, working closely with students and families in underserved communities. Her work was rooted in care, empowerment, and a deep belief that every child deserves a safe, healthy environment in which to thrive.
After learning Pearson's powerful story, Marley felt a deep calling to continue the mission Pearson began-- one rooted in faith, healthy living, and meaningful impact. Today, that calling has grown into Humble Roots Home, LLC.
